Terms and Policies
Below are a few rules and policies so that we can provide you with the best possible experience.
Before and After Class:
- Check into every class using the iPad on the counter.
- Place all belonging in a cubbie or locker.
- At no time are you to be on the mat with shoes.
- If you arrive late, wait outside the mat area until the instructor recognizes you and calls you onto the mat.
- Please do not leave the mat without the instructor’s permission (unless it’s an emergency).
- Absolutely no dirty and sweaty uniforms (gi or no-gi) on the coaches.
- No outdoor footwear beyond the counter/mat areas.
During Class:
- Never talk when the instructor is teaching.
- Respect EVERYONE. Especially respect higher-ranking members.
- Take instructions from instructors only. Remember, the instructor is teaching the class, not your partner. It is always best to ask if you or your partner has a question. Raise your hand and wait patiently for the instructor to come around.
- Practice end-to-end commitment. From the moment you step onto the mat, you should use that time to improve yourself. If you want to talk and hang out, please be mindful of your teacher and partner and do it after class.
- Everyone works with everyone.
- No swearing.
- Anytime you leave the mat and plan on returning, use footwear, especially to the restroom.
Personal Hygiene:
- Make sure all finger and toenails are neatly trimmed.
- Make sure you always use a clean gi.
- Feet should always be clean.
Membership Cancellation Policy:
- We understand that plans change! To cancel your membership, simply email us at admin@korfhagebjj.com with at least 30 days’ notice before your next billing date. (For example: If you’re billed on November 1 and want November to be your final month, please email us by October 2. You’ll be billed for November and can continue training through the end of that month.)
- If notice is given after your billing date (for example, November 2), your final billing will be on December 1, allowing you to train through December as your last month.
- All cancellations must be submitted in writing via email.
Late Payment Policy:
- If a payment is declined on your billing date, a $25 late fee will be added if not paid within 5 days, and a $50 late fee after 10 days. We appreciate your prompt payments — it helps keep classes running smoothly for everyone!
